NOTE if you don't see the toolbar, there is an auto retract feature, just place the mouse on that spot (where it should be) and the toolbar will appear. Right click on "Import", "Create new sequence" and "Browse project contents" icons to access appropriate command menus (as above). If you're a first time user, don't panic, the flexible layout opens on an empty canvas into which you can open the panels and viewers you need using the toolbar on the left working down, the icons are arranged pretty much in workflow order. The panels and viewers are generally similar to those in the fixed layout, except the editor can customize their layout to their own taste on the fly.
